Is it possible to suggest that symbols known to mankind since ancient times exist out of time? A study of the relationship between the cultural code of ancient civilizations and the modern world allows us to conclude that archaic symbols have never lost their relevance and acquire new meanings in the worldview of modern man. Throughout history, the same "banners" have been able to motivate society to both good deeds and violence and intolerance towards ethnic groups that profess different views. In this context, the symbol undergoes a semantic transformation and becomes multifaceted, which in turn does not allow its identification in a positive or negative direction.

"Sacred minimalism" - this is the term Astian Rey describes his own artistic style, and the plot component of most works is formed through thorough research in the field of mysticism, philosophy and alchemy. Works depicting various symbols, sometimes quite veiled and ambiguous, are designed to create conflict in the mental flow of modern man, arousing interest in the sacred, metaphysical and what lies beyond irrational perception. Astian believes that the viewer must first endow a work with a divine or demonic meaning, because only by knowing the duality of the world around us can understand the truth that lies on the border of these two concepts.
