«SELENA»

2018

84x41x29cm

Concrete, coal, steel, enamel.

Selena in ancient mythology is the goddess of the moon. The day of the vernal equinox is dedicated to her. On this day, Selena washed herself in the ocean waters, put on silver clothes and harnessed the mighty horses to her chariot in order to set off again through the sky. Zeus himself was Selena's lover. Poets call her the sparkling eye of the night. In thinking about the image of the goddess bearing the crescent sign, I imagined myself a fragile, but at the same time powerful guardian of the night luminary.

Creating this sculpture, I used metal, concrete and charred coals. The horns are woven manually from thin steel wire.
